| Overview |
SHARE is a project involving
23 Central Washington school districts, 104 other school districts around the state, 2,252 teachers, 40,536+ students and the Educational Technology Support Center of
Educational Service District 105. It has been funded through Washington State Educational
Technology Competitive grants, Technology Leadership Challenge Fund grants, a US Department of Education Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology grant, corporate sponsorships and membership fees.
SHARE is the only project in Washington to be grant funded four times in three years. We also have strong partner support: the total of $6.96M in grant funds received to date has been matched to deliver $12.84M in benefit to Washington's classrooms. Only 3% of these funds are used for administrative purposes - the remainder goes directly to classrooms!
Expectations for grant participants are very high and yet 80% successfully complete them (as this WWW site demonstrates!) Over 96% of our participants who complete the expectations of the grant have chosen to continue participating in SHARE.
SHARE is also now "open" to any educator in the world and there are many teachers involved as "On-Line" Participants.

their on-line partners

Participating educators from all grade levels and subject areas are involved.
Teachers who completed all of the expectations during the
grant year had the option of continuing with the SHARE project as long
as they wish to.
Including the grant funding, school district funds and
the in-kind contributions from ESD 105, school districts and other partners;
each classroom received over $12,000 in direct benefit through participating

The project was conceived, developed, written
and implemented by representatives from Central Washington School Districts
and ESD 105. The original writing team in 1996 consisted of Sev Byerrum, Forrest
Fisher, Geneva Glanzer, Jane Gutting, Sharon Heath and Chuck Wahle. The Project Director and representatives
from each school district comprise the "Coordination
and Advisory Team" (CAT) which provides leadership and direction for
the project. During subsequent years the Educational Technology Support Center at ESD 105 has continued to develop and refine the curriculum.
