Peer Coaching
|
| The overall goal of the Peer Coaching program is to increase the capacity within the Central Washington region for teachers to use educational technology in the classroom effectively. The ETSC @ ESD 105 has been training and supporting peer coaches since 2003 and more than 244 have been trained and 23 teachers are currently actively involved in the program. Peer Coaching is one of the most important and effective programs we have ever implemented.
The Peer Coaching program has recently been licensed by Microsoft as part of their "Partners In Learning" program, the international effort to support education. ESD 105's Forrest Fisher is the lone trainer authorized to train other facilitators in Washington State.

Released by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and supported by Microsoft Corp., the survey found fewer than one-fourth of U.S. teachers have spent more than six hours on any kind of professional development related to cyber ethics, safety, or security within the last 12 months.

| Students in the woodsy, working-class Hector School District in Arkansas now can look at more than the Ozark National Forest in the two-plus hours they spend on the school bus each day.
The Pope County district is participating in a new program for rural schools believed to be the first of its kind: It’s playing math and science [2] content over ceiling-mounted computer screens during the lengthy bus rides.
